Paradigm Shifter
Think of a Paradigm Shift as a change from one way of thinking to another. It's a sort of metamorphosis. It just does not happen,it is driven by agents of change

you, the woman who just won-t sell [bonus some throughts on NaNoWriMo]

I think in the back of my head I collected these songs in this mix just for myself and Kim.
Basically it-s just some songs from some wonderful ladies I listen to when at times I feel down or when I feel good, really good, about myself.
And you know what? They-re girly songs yes, sorry to disappoint the males and the feminists (cause those are a species in themselves too).

Thus, a compilation of songs from a young woman who-s seen stuff, to another woman who-s seen stuff and to everyone else out there who decided to live and do their thing as in opposed to lie down and die.

Enjoy, a clap is most appreciated even if you won-t leave a comment.

Cover picture credit goes to someone but I have no clue to whom. It was in my photography folder, without the photographer-s name tagged accordingly I-m afraid.
Bottom line: not mine. No credit. Do not sue.

15. Vienna Teng - Hope On Fire (the live of this song is explosive and as much as I like the studio recording, I believe it can-t be compared to how much passion Vienna puts in it when she sings it live)

Now I shall go get dressed and take a long walk through the park with a coffee to go, trying to decide if I should write Cruel Winter for NaNoWriMo, or focus on the contemporary gothic story that has no title and no plot (and if I listen to any more jrock on my way, that would probably be my choice...)

This is me on NaNoWriMo, in case anyone cares to follow me: Clickety Click

I started 5 days later because it didn-t come to my mind until this morning that NNWM starts in November, but that-s ok, the remaining days until December should be enough for 50,000 words, right?
Besides, this is no literary competition and I won-t have to brood over the use of every word (though I will, but this time I promised I shan-t obsess over it. Seriously.)
I am starting tonight so drop by and say hi since I probably won-t be around on Messenger too much until NNWM is finished. All messages encouraged, constant spamming, comment of the likes of wtf is your character doing?? o.O!! - are much love, as well as random spazzing.

I-m out, going to watch the leaves fall in the park.

Enjoy the sound of all the dead, dead sit in their graves

This was supposed to be a longer entry, but I-ll edit it tomorrow maybe.

Truth is, I am more passioned by thrillers and mysteries than anyone knows. It took even me by surprise to realize more than half of my Chinky DL list is filled with detective/police/thriller/mystery- themed films.
I love puzzles (especially if they have 1000+ pieces, both literally and metaphorically), words games and structures. Hand me something like that in the middle of a date and I am more likely to ignore my date from that moment on. They entertain me immensely. I love chess, everyone knows that, so I suppose the reasons mentioned above are why I enjoyed Death Note so much: in addition to really good artwork, I also had stuff to think on and genuinely ask myself: how the heck is this gonna end ?
Never been in the fandom literally because 99% of the fans I-ve seen scattered around miss the point greatly, but I did enjoy the story a lot and I genuinely did not expect it to be any good but I don-t regret all the sleepless night I spent reading it. I actually think I played more chess than usual those days too, haha.

Basically this compilation is solely for my DN bias/needs XD It-s been a year or even more since I finished reading it but it-s been on my mind since then more often than I-d like to admit and these days I finally gathered up the courage to actually watch it also (watching the series is the last thing left to do because I munched down everything else with a burning passion XD) because I said that, since I read it, why watch the same thing all over again. But what the heck, why not ?

I have problems focusing on just one thing, if I am not doing two things at once the least I consider it am wasting time so these songs, more or less, were the ones I was listening to while reading DN.
I have also included the lyrics to the DeG and Rammstein songs and two or three others, just in case.

I can already point out those of you who won-t like this particular playlist but I-ll leave the download up to you, I-ll just do my duty and say this: lots of pretty heavy rock on the first part.
I named each part Dark and Light in addition to Twilight because all main characters are not good guys or bad guys, they fall from one category into the other. Even L and Near have a dark streak to their personalities and I won-t listen to anyone who tries to change my opinion on that one.

The title, ignorantia legit non excusat, paired up with my awesome latin skillz XD....I guess the expression can be literally translated to the law does not forgive ignorance or you cannot treat law with ignorance. As far as my memory goes, it was an expression used in the Roman Empire to obviously state the fact that no matter what you do, you cannot escape the law, so I found it pretty fitting for DN.

I picked Ryuk for the cover (as in opposed to the win that is L) because he-s an awesome character and he started the whole thing in the first place. I don-t like the fact he-s so overlooked by the fans and treated mostly as Light-s pet because in a way, he holds the reins of the story, he-s the entertainer allowing the dancers to entertain him, until he gets bored and takes back the show. Or, as I like to joke: Ryuk is the win because he does it for the lulz.
He doesn-t care who lives and who dies, he just demands to be entertained while they-re at it. I like that a lot. That I am not impressed attitude, the let-s see where this goes-thing about him, his strange detachment towards it all, considering he can manouver life and death as he feels like it. I think he-s a very interesting and complex character, in his apparent simplicity.

Anyway, enough talking, here goes, enjoy and if you don-t feel like leaving a comment, do press the clap button, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Symphonic....Metal....??

Holy shit, B. listens to Symphonic Metal too ?!?!!?
Yes, yes she does I-m afraid.
Well, she used to, nowadays it-s just another genre among all the others she listens to but there was once a time when she listened to more of it, so keep your pants on, she-s not going goth on you or anything.

Basically I am making this compilation just to take it off my chest so to speak. I had some business in Florence some two days ago and on my way back, facing a two hour long train ride, I failed at watching a film or writing, so I just rummaged through my music folders and opened my Symphonic Metal one and had a go at it since I haven-t listened to those songs in a very long time. So now that I went through it again, I thought I-d share.

This is a short playlist I insisted on a few months ago while I was fighting boredom and writing a fantasy-ish story that took (and still takes) an epic amount of research and while I was RP-ing with Gossip Man also on a fantasy story that is now on indeterminate hiatus and created one of my favorite characters up to date. So, depending on your views, this might or might not be an inspirational playlist for your muses.

You might take notice this is dominated by frontwomen and that is mostly because 99% of frontmen I heard in symphonic metal bands are tone deaf and/or do nothing but yell their lungs out and that-s not my cup of tea because I tend to enjoy melodic lines (as in opposed to withering to death type of screams). True, I do have one song that deals with screaming on my favorites list, that-s a Cradle of Filth one and it-s there because it reminds me of something I experienced a while ago (it was artistic, not violent, no worries).

The cover I picked features Tarja Turunen, ex-frontwoman of Nightwish and I picked her because she was my introduction to symphonic metal all those years ago and I know it-s already cliche to say this but she has the most recognizable (and best) voice in symphonic metal. I don-t care what everyone else says, if it wasn-t for Nighwish all these little minions who sing it today wouldn-t be here so hush. It-s like all the rockers out there who deny they ever listened to Linkin Park and that they were Metallica fans since forever. Shut up, no one believes you.

I enjoy Symphonic Metal as much as ever, just that I am picky to the extreme with the songs I listen to, that-s why my symphonic metal folder is not that big. I prefer songs with a melody and good voices (hence why I gave up on Nightwish after Tarja left because I don-t want to listen to squeaks), preferably with an abundance in classical instruments and if a choir is present, it-s even better.

So here goes.
I hope at least one person will enjoy listening to at least one song from this one because I know it-s a genre pretty hard to swallow for most people. But hey, even my mother has her own Nightwish songs she likes, so if she does, it-s impossible you won-t find at least one you-ll enjoy listening to from this small playlist.

As always, if you don-t feel like leaving a comment, please press the clap download, it would be very much appreciated.
Thank you!

Tracklist:

01.Delain - Stay Forever
02.Epica & Tarja Turunen - Illusive Consensus (If I were to pick one single Symphonic Metal song to present the genre to the world, this would be it. This is how symphonic metal should be!)
03.Lacuna Coil - Swamped (may or may not fit in the genre. Some say it does, others say it-s more gothic metal.I just shrug and add it anyway)
04.Nightwish - End Of All Hope (I don-t have my Symphonic Metal without Nightwish)
05.Nightwish - She Is My Sin (....the amount of time I spent obsessing and putting this song on repeat cannot be mentioned because it can be viewed as either madness or obsession)
06.Sarah Brightman - Fleurs Du Mal (fits the genre for now due to use of electrical instruments and because I need an excuse to add her somewhere, end of story)
07.Therion - Asgard (really nice choir)
08.Therion - O, Fortuna (metal rendition of the most epic chorus in all opera history)
09.Within Temptation - See Who I Am
10.Within Temptation - The Howling (one of the most inspirational songs while writing my I-am-bored-I-need-to-distract-myself-with-fantasy-stuff- chase scene across a forest at night and numerous other fighting/chase scenes I worked on that happened in woods)
11.Xandria - Sleeping Dogs Lie

Two music dumps in two days ? Yep. But probably they're gonna be the last ones in a while.
This time these are my personal picks for a running playlist.

I normally have one or two songs I listen to on repeat while I run, but I like to have stuff to choose from according to my mood. And this playlist is probably a pretty wtf one XD
I tend to run on songs most people wouldn't find entertaining to run on, and this is a list that is not an exception at all.
I have a rule: no depressing shit. I try not to listen to too upbeat songs either because I call them energy wasters, they make you want to run too fast and not preserve any energy for the final lap so I try to listen to anything in between.
This particular playlist though, save for a song or two, is based on instrumental music, mostly from soundtracks and I have to say it's probably one of my favorite playlists so far. Most people wouldn't be caught dead running on this but then again when did I ever do something everyone else expected me to do or considered normal ? XD

So here it is, another side of my passion for music, I hope you'll enjoy it.
As always, if you don't feel like leaving a comment, leaving a clap for the download is love.

02. Chan Kwong Wing - 1991 (I always found this one perfect for my final lap for some reason)
03. Chan Kwong Wing - 我想做好人

05. Nina Simone - Sinnerman (Felix Da Housecat Remix) (Mostly for the warm up)
06. Sarah Brightman with Andrea Bocelli - Con Te Partiro (I refuse to believe I am the only one who listens to opera while running!)
07. Sawano Hiroyuki - Main Theme
08. Taro Iawshiro - Heart To Heart (a song I consider out of this world)
09. Toshihiko Sahashi - Tsuna Kakusei (the epicness of the last part of this song is simply epic)

"It's time to rethink world peace" - Zeebra

It took me about 6 hours to make this compilation. Restart computer about 5 times, wait on it a dozen more because of the fail it is due to this hot weather (I still love my baby but sometimes...), upload it twice, look for the lyrics, find and fit the pictures, cook egg fried rice in between. I don't normally curse much, I think it's a disgusting habit, but I spat out quite a bit in these 3 hours.
I don't know why I went through all the trouble, honestly. It's not like anyone pays me to do it and it's not like anyone cares too much. But I suppose I just love music so much I feel like I should spread it around with all I got. Sounds kind of noble, doesn't it ? That's too much unlike me so to make it less noble-sounding, maybe I just need to get angry from time to time and it was the right moment.

I've been under massive stress in the past week and I try to contain it as much as I can because if I break, then everything else breaks and I need to keep this fragile balance in place to the best of my abilities. I want to speak about it but I won't, it would feel weird for me for people to know in what a pitiful situation I am and I feel like I have to hold it together until everything else fails. I think I have enough energy left to do that, yup, I do.
So, what calms me down better sometimes in these situations but a good piece of asian rap ?
Because Tiger JK heals my soul.

Hence this compliation.
This is not my Top 10 or anything, but they do happen to be a few of my favorite asian rap/hip hop pieces, which I happened to listen to a lot lately. So I made a count to see which have been those most listened in the past week, and some of these came up.

Everyone knows I enjoy asian rap a lot and it's a shame it's overlooked and very much not taken seriously, because oh my god, the asian's can't possibly rap, can they ?!? Yeah well they can (go figure) and some of them do it extremely well. But most people don't understand how difficult it is for an asian to build lyrics, because of the language, hence my respect for Epik High whom I consider three of the best lyricists out there, for making amazing lyrics fit into rap songs.
But cadence, rhythm and language are something I want to cover in another entry some time.

Before anyone has the lulz due to the "cover" I made for it, I don't have Photoshop anymore so this was the best I could do. I tried to include almost all artists featured because I think it's important to know their faces.
Coma Chi, Drunken Tiger, Uematsu Hidemi, Epik High and Zeebra have the biggest pics because of the obvious win, of course.

I attached some lyrics, to the few ones I managed to find the lyrics to, because it's pretty hard and making a translation by myself with the help of a translator or dictionary is even harder, but here it is.
I hope at least one person will enjoy listening to this.

Tracklisting:

01. Coma Chi & Rip Slyme - Evolution (despite the song being love, the live is what really gets to me : Rip Slyme and Coma Chi Live at Budokan )
02. Coma Chi - Bye Bye Myself
03. Coma Chi - ミチバタ (Michibata)
04. Drunken Tiger - Rebel Music
05. Drunken Tiger feat. Ann - 태어나 다시 태어나도 (I want to believe this song doesn't even need a translation, the meaning is just too wonderfully obvious)
06. Epik High feat. Myk - Free Music
07. Epik High feat. Myk - Scenario (yep, this is the one where they use movie titles for lyrics throughout song, I love how they made that work into the Paranoia factor. Probably one of my top 3 EH songs)
08. King Giddra - 911 ( more info here: On Wiki
and here: by Ian Condry - actually the whole book is pretty good, while we're at it)
09. Loop Junktion - Running Wild (rap with real instruments, I kid you not. It was a very interesting project and all the songs on this particular album give an amazing feel due to the use of acoustinc guitars, cymbals and drums and what not)
10. Rip Slyme - Tales
11. Uematsu Hidemi - トラウマ (Trauma) (will forever be one of those very special songs for me)
12. Zeebra - Bushido (my attempts to translate this were made of fail. The conclusion I did reach, aside from the obvious reference to the Samurai Code - Bushido- was also a push towards finding your inner strength and the love for the place you grew up in/brought you up.
"Born in this area grow in this area
Consumed with love for this land
This amount of blood boiling in this body
All this blood
Born in this area grow in this area
Consumed with love for this land
Close up towards you goal
"
Worst translation of a chorus ever but you get the point XD)
13. Zeebra - Untouchable (I'll never have enough of this one, loooove the jazzy feel)

This was tiresome as hell....6 bloody hours....
I need my green tea now.

"King Giddra's "911" reflects on ground zero and it's aftermath in two eras: August 1945 and September 11, 2001(...) For King Giddra, the answer was obvious. MCs Zeebra and K Dub Shine, both of whom had lived in the U.S., were convinced of the necessity for hip-hop to be about issues of social opposition. In the following example, "Bullet of Truth", KG questions the education system that "crushes the dreams of children" as well as the media overload, especially in terms of advertising, sex and violence, which becomes a kind of mind control." - Ian Condry (M.I.T)
